Bajalka devotes special attention to illustrations, as they introduce a child to the world of books.
They are the first form of fine art the youngest readers come into contact with. They are especially important for stimulating imagination in the pre-reading period when children can’t read yet but can already turn the pages and look at the illustrations in the picture book. We therefore try to make our original illustrations available for children to look at in illustration exhibitions.

Alenka Spacal illustrates in classic watercolour and tempera techniques. In a time when the illustration, like other art forms, is becoming more and more digitalised, the author advocates for hand-painted illustrations. The illustrator has developed a distinctive mosaic-like style, with meticulous fine brush painting.
